Since 1995, GTFC-West has provided complete design/build services for Engineered Aggregate Piers (replacement aggregate piers constructed with true vertical ramming energy that produces superior stiffness, shear strength, uniformity). The firm has completed projects throughout the United States but concentrates primarily on projects in the Western states. The company maintains a staff of geotechnical engineers for design and project management, and it maintains its own field construction crews and equipment for pier installation. GTFC-West therefore provides a true, 100% in-house, turnkey, design/build product.
From 1995 through 2010, principles in the firm were instrumental in developing the analytical tools and construction techniques, and in gaining acceptance within the construction industry, for a patented aggregate pier system of soil reinforcement and foundation support. When the patent for the original system expired in 2011, the company re-named itself to GeoTech Foundation Company - West and continues to serve the construction industry with design and construction of Engineered Aggregate Piers – the same pier system it has designed and constructed since 1995
GTFC-West places a very high value on the reputation that it has earned over the years. One of the most important aspects of this reputation is the principle of integrity, which has been and always will be one of our fundamental values. Integrity forms the basis of our successful relationships with our customers, our employees, our vendors, and our partners.
Honesty and candid communications are hallmarks of GTFC-West throughout all aspects of our work --- business development, design, contracting, and construction.
In addition to having an impeccable record for completing projects on schedule with settlement control exceeding project expectations, GTFC-West has an excellent safety record. In 2013, the company received the "Gold Award" from ConstructSecure, which is an independent Contractor Safety Assessment Program that reviews a company's historic safety performance and current safety management systems. GTFC-West also has an exemplary safety record with OSHA, CALOSHA and MSHA.
GTFC-West maintains an essentially Six Sigma quality control program that incorporates peer review throughout engineering and design work, as well as multiple quality control processes and cross-checks during on-site construction.
The GTFC-West on-site QC program incorporates proprietary rammer force calibration and rammer deflection monitoring during construction of pier lifts so that the dynamic modulus of individual pier lifts can be observed in real-time during construction.
GTFC-West has an experienced staff of licensed Geotechnical and Civil engineers with extensive
experience in design and construction of Engineered Aggregate Piers. These engineers design every project, provide stamped design submittals for permitting, oversee field quality control, and furnish record drawings and data reports upon completion of pier installation.
GTFC-West has completed engineered aggregate pier installations for over 500 soil improvement and ground reinforcement projects, including
